How do I know when its real?
A lot of us keep wondering when we will know when its real. We stay in hurtful or un-fulfilling relationships as we wait for a sign or for the right guy/girl to come along. We play along, we pretend, we lie...we string people along, play with their hearts and feelings because we are unsure of what we feel or are unaware of the reality of the relationship that we are in. In all honesty, if you do not want to be with someone then just leave. They say it is better to be alone than to be with someone who brings nothing but hurt. If it real, then you don't just make a promise to someone, you will go out of your way to keep them. You will stay committed to this person even when it is boring or when the grass seems greener on the other side.
When its real, its not a task waking up next to that person for the rest of your life. When its real, its not enough to put a ring on her finger and give her a title and your last name. They become the best they can for you. They value you and respect your relationship. When its real, you don't just get honesty, they give you loyalty. I read somewhere that being honest does not make you faithful, loyalty does. Honesty doesn't make them a good person, it just doesn't make them a liar. If you are real, you will not have to tell the truth about living a lie.
If you are truly committed, why do something that hurt your partner in the first place and then have to apologize about it later? Why keep some truths from them? Why look at the them in the eye and promise them that you have changed? When its real, laughter should come easily. Trust should not be an issue. When its real, you do not have panic every time your partners phone rings. When its real, you don't need to reconfirm that they are where they said they would be. When its real, you will not be afraid that this person will not be there for you. You can be sure that no matter how insane your idea is, this person will be ready to back you up. Being in a relationship should be easy. It should be fun. I believe that is why people come together. I guess when its real you will know its real. You will know it in your hearts of hearts and you will be sure that you are making the right choice.
